The U S 10th Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld a ruling by U S District Court Judge Vicki Miles-LeGrange (http://ftpcontent.worldnow.com/griffin/NEWSon6/PDF/1011/SQ%20755%20... ) that Oklahoma State Question 755, passed on November 2, 2010, is unconstitutional. The State Question was passed by 70% of the voters of the State of Oklahoma to ban the use of Shari Law, International Law, or the laws of any foreign country in the state. The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) filed a lawsuit saying the question discriminated against Muslims in Oklahoma. In the original filing, CAIR’s Oklahoma director called the bill a case of “anti-Muslim bigotry”.

Permalink Reply by Bob Norman on January 11, 2012 at 5:34pm This is an unbelievable ruling by the court system. They are essentially ruling that people can be ruled by laws not made by the political structure used to rule. Totally doesn't make sense.
If you can't beat them join them. Let the Christians develop their own set of laws, for argument sake, lets call it Tebowism. The Christian Community explicitly defines details that protect their beliefs. It is against the law to ever beat your wife under any circumstances. Banking must be financed with no interest, but fees will be paid to the Christian Counsel who will be made of Tebow appointees who distribute said funds. You get the idea! When a conflict comes up with Secular laws the Tebow law can be called into play, any conflict with Shariah can be obfuscated by Tebow laws. Id our progressive community is so hell bent on protecting Muslim law, lets see how well they do on Christian Tebowism. If nothing else you have legal grounds to challenge laws you find repulsive.
Permalink Reply by Bob Russell, Moderator on January 11, 2012 at 6:19pm We already hve a set of Christian laws, the Constitution of the United States of America. The genius of it is that it is fair to all "religions" because it does not allow one to dominate. sharia Law is not religion, it is a governmental system. that is the fallacy they are trying to con us with. Islam is the religion and will be tolerated under our present Constitution. CAIR doesn't want tolerance, they want dominance.
Permalink Reply by Bob Norman on January 11, 2012 at 9:52pm I agree 100 % with what you have written, but things are being interpreted different by the secular progressive crowd. I think its time to "layer" or beliefs to fight back in the same way as we are being attached. If Muslims can generate their religious laws and the courts start recognzing them, its only fair that t Christians do the same. Even though our laws were originally Christian based they have been greatly defused over the years by agnostics, gays, atheists and now Muslims. A good Catholic set of laws or Baptist set of laws could be a great base to challenge the system and our Whacky judges.
Permalink Reply by Bob Russell, Moderator on January 11, 2012 at 10:49pm Bob, the problem isn't with the documents, it is with those interpreting them. Until we change that part nothing we do will make a difference. time to clean house in Washington and the courts.
Permalink Reply by Bob Norman on January 12, 2012 at 12:13am Yes, we all recognize that and its not about to change any time fast. The Tea Party has been fighting for 3 years with not much progress. All I am suggesting is another approach to fight, what we are doing isn't working in my opinion, so try another path.
That's my point.
Permalink Reply by Bob Russell, Moderator on January 12, 2012 at 10:20am Of the 87 TEA Party supported candidates elected in 2010, only 22 opposed the debt ceiling raise. I don't know how to go about solving that problem. They get co-opted with prime office space, committee chairmanships, etc. They sell out even before they take the oath of office it seems. We have a couple running for the Oklahoma 2nd District congressional seat who will sell out in 2 seconds. They are in in for themselves and they have the money behind them to get elected. The honest ones don't.
