Miami Dade County Vote by March 13.

You can go to your local early voting location.

Please pass this on to anyone who might be interested.

The Miami Dade county special election official ballot

lists one item for voters:

Should Miami Dade County Mayor Carlos Alvarez be recalled?

below is some info I found: If you find any articles or reasons why he should not be recalled, please comment or advise, ( to be fair)

The recall effort was launched by auto magnate Norman Braman after county commissioners approved Alvarez's budget for the coming year that raises the property tax rate and raises the salaries of most county employees.

A judge threw out the county mayor’s challenge that claimed the petitions seeking the recall election, set for March 15, were flawed.

Braman held forth at length: “I just got disgusted as a citizen and felt it was time to take the complaint to a level of action…. I felt it was time to empower the people of this community to do something about the quality of government here.’’

Braman said he does no business with the county, but pointed out that some who contributed money to the mayor’s political action committee do.

“The Marlins is a classic example’’ of a business that has given money to the mayor’s PAC, Braman said, referring to a $50,000 contribution. He added rhetorically: “And my God, why shouldn’t they?”

In an earlier fight with the mayor, Braman stridently but unsuccessfully opposed the use of public funds to build the new Marlins baseball stadium that is quickly taking shape in Little Havana.

Call it the first counter strike against Mayor Carlos Alvarez's all-but-assured victory today to give his office more power over county government, including the authority to hire and fire department heads. In effect, the mayor would have the ability to scuttle investigations that could be "embarrassing" to his administration, Gimenez explained. "There is no buffer there," he added. "If the strong mayor passes, investigations would become political."

from the New Times in 2007.

If you have read this far....

my vote will be YES

Mary in Hernando County:
Permitting 'redistricting' is always destructive to the people (economically). I always vote nay on redistricting—research "Metro Government" and you'll find out why "redistricting" sets off alarms to your freedom . When a State wants to redistrict it is always for political purposes, regardless of any 'benefits' they loosely toss around to justify the proposal. The two underlying objectives for redistricting are: (1) to elevate taxes by incorporating a larger district into their authority. If you live in a small town redistricted into a larger city you get bumped into a higher tax bracket to support the spending of 'the big city boys." This is mostly collected through property taxes which cleverly distributes their booty into their failing school system, fire and emergency service, and other state programs (including a non-registered voter penalty tax of $25 here in Hernando). The second underlying objective is to enlarge the voting base in certain districts. It either grows or shrinks the voting numbers between the low-income residents and the high-income residents so that various incumbents—even parties—can grow their numbers at the polls. In this case, for example, residents that are dependent on welfare programs like social security or housing assistance in the big city will lose out when redistricting happens because the money allocated for their needs must be distributed further to help all the new district members. Don't worry, your friendly government PR will tell you, when the money runs out—we'll just request more money to take care of everybody. HIGHER TAXES for entitlement programs doesn't shift money from one district to another—it raises taxes in both to compensate. The citizen is always the loser in redistricting amendments.

There is more that actually happens in any redistricting plan, but it is a better guideline to consider the impact of changes that "grow government" when the size of the existing government actually perpetuates the problem.

Good stuff Robert. I totally agree with ya man.

The Federal Govt has "bailed out" the states. So instead of downsizing and getting their budgets in order, they take the money from the Govt and they continue with their ridiculously bloated budget.

I'm tired of Uncle Sam bailing out everybody with our taxpayer money. That strategy never works for long. They prop up the states who have spent recklessly, they prop up the unions who are unable to fund their bloated pensions but they give a lot of money to the Dems campaigns.

If there are no consequenses to the reckless spending, the problem will continue.

The "Free Market Principles" dictate that there will be successes and there will be failures. Ya can't have one without the other..If you don't allow a business to fail, the system is not able to purge itself..

I guess that's Obama's "redistribution of wealth" idealogy huh?

The "Great Nanny State"...Stupidity...

On you,

Okie Dokie Robert. I with ya...

Okay, how about this.

I have been doing a lot of research on the "Fair Tax"

I must admit though, I was against it at first but then I started reading up on it.

It wasn't anything like what I thought it was.

It would effectively eliminate the IRS, eliminate a whole bunch of other stupid taxes. It has a lot of deductions that people are fond of and it has the effect of treating everybody the same. No loopholes for the wealthy and standard deductions for the poor.

So, tell me what you know about it...

Here's another thing Robert.

The Dept of Education was started in the Carter years I believe. At that point we were around 4th in the world in higher education. So we've thrown literally tens of billions of taxpayer money into the Dept of Education and now we're 25th in the world.

There comes a time when you have to look back and say "Gee , that didn't work and it has been a big waste of money" But the idiots in Washington just can't ever seem to do the right thing. If any candidate trys to abolish the D.O.E., they will be branded as a loony. And the problem goes on and on..

But the government still keeps throwing money at the D.O.E thinking it's gonna work.

Yea, we've been "dumbed down" allright. I agree..

So why not just eliminate the D.O.E and let the States have the responsibility for their own education?

This Federal Governent is just plain STUPID!!!

Then take a look at the Dept of Commerce..Same thing. It doesn't work..

The Dems don't get it. The GOP doesn't get it. It seems to me that both parties are guilty of subverting our Constitution, rewriting our laws, and they both favor Big Government. History shows that whether they are Dems or Repubs, they ALL spent and wasted our money, and spent money we don't have.

They say one thing to get elected and then they go right back to their stupidity regardless of what the people want. They are ELITES. I wish there was a way to do what Thomas Jefferson suggested. - Citizen Legislators..!!
Most of them went to Congress with little money but now they're rich.

Washington is corrupt and has been for well over 100 years.

It's not about we the people, it's about how much money and power they can amass.

It's about telling us lies so they can get elected and make the big bucks.

They all take money from Big business and Wall Street.

None of these idiots will stop the spending.

Makes me sick....
