Oil, I've always asked the question , if another country can come over to our water ways and drill for oil, How much do we make from the Foreign Oil companies so they can take our oil , if that's not the caset then why the heck aren't we drilling for oil and I think the answer is , our goverment wants us all to depend on them for everything. Won't be me I'll ride a bike first.... LOL

hussien obama is helping to solidify the great scism in our country. He is helping us decide to take sides...and conservatives have more firearms than liberals. However, we cannot have chaos nor a civil war. We must not unless forced to.

Hi Everyone,

I'm really excited by the election results in KY and the general trend towards 'housecleaning' in other elections so far. Hopefully, this is just the beginning of what will be a newly accountable government. I feel like it's actually possible to get the message across that our representatives are just that - representatives rather than rulers - through this 'ballot box revolution' as I call it. Yea! Let's hear it for the Republic and not let up in our message to D.C.!

Hi Folks,
I'm just catching up after a few days absence. Just throwing in a few small comments: first, I'm so impressed by the level of study and consideration by everyone as to our founders, our constitution, and questions of how to proceed in protecting our liberties in what is an increasingly socialist environment. Second, I'm not in favor at this point of any military option. (Let's hope and pray it never comes to that.) What I advocate is to simply cut BHO off at the knees by handing him a House and Senate so conservative that he can't pursue any agenda besides showing up at a ribbon-cutting or book reading. Wal-Mart is not the only organization that can do a 'roll-back' and I hope we can vote in a legislature who's favorite term it 'repeal it all'!

Did anyone catch the news today where Eric Holder advocated changing the Miranda warning for terrorists? It may sound fine on the surface (and a lot of patriotic Americans may think it's a sound idea) but I'm unwilling to believe that this administration (or future ones for that matter) will not find it too tempting to define anyone who disagress with them as a terrorist in order to side-step constitutional protections such as Mirandization. A better approach might be to let the terrorists (specifically foreign or foreign-born ones who are actively involved in trying to blow people to bits) stand trial before military tribunals rather than in civilian courts, where the 'rules of engagement' are different. In my mind, they've been capured in active combat, and don't qualify for treatment as civilians. Bottom line: I don't trust the goverrnment not to monkey with constitutional rights or guanantees like Miranda when it is convenient for them, rather than when there is a genuine need. We need to find another way around this, rahter than having a 'flexible' Miranda warning. Any thoughts on this? Also, anyone doing a march or protest for July 4th? I'm interested if we're in town. I went to a tax protest and a town hall meeting prior to the vote on socialized medicine, but I haven't been particularly active since, other than cussing at my TV. It would be great to gather as a group of concerned citizens in GA in an organized event.

Hi Folks,
New member (but long-time conservative) here. So, I've noticed something interesting in the televised political ads I've been seeing: not one has identified their political party! Seems to me that both Democrats and business-as-usual Republicans know the voters are ticked, and they are attempting to run on somewhat nebulous issues like 'jobs for Georgia' or 'bring back the homestead exemption' rather than identify with one of the failed political parties. (I say failed for both; obviously the Democrats have failed quite a bit more than the Republicans, but we wouldn't be active if they both hadn't blown it big-time). Anyone else notice this? Also, I haven't seen any ads for Libertarians, and I was hoping to see more of these up for election. I'm not a Lbertarian myself (can't get pst their policies on dope or abothion, neither of which make sense to me) but I think that altogether they could help push a fiscally conservative budget and limited government, so given the choice between them and a sold-out Republican, I'll vote Libertarian any day. Has anyone else noticed the lack of party identification?

P.S. Pardon and typos. My fingers can't keep up with my brain.
