I joined because I believe in the three basic platforms of the Party: less government in our lives, less taxes (or certainly a fairer method of paying), and government fiscal responsibility.  In the…Continue

Focusing on the Original Tea Party Agenda

I am constantly amazed at how far afield the Tea Party's platform(s) range(s).  The original Tea Party group didn't focus on religion, immigration, gay rights, abortion, or racism.  Their agenda was no taxaton without representation...pretty simple. In fact, they were considered the American terrorist of their day.  Of course that depends on who is writing history, and generally the winner gets to write it.  Setting that aside...I  joined the Tea Party for one reason, their stand on taxes and…See More

'Tea Party' Platform

http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/teaparty.htmThe above link gives you an excellent synopsis of the handle 'Tea Party'. I contend, as has been spoken, the Tea Party is neither 'Red' or 'Blue' but stands for, and calls for Federal (Our US Government, Uncle Sam) Fiscal Responsibility (FFR). You (We) can attach other social values that may or may not pertain to the original act, however let's not cloud our vision of how we fund the…See More

Fair Tax

The original 'Boston Tea Party' was an action 'statement' by the Boston mechants protesting the the levy of taxes without representation plus the taxes themselves was placing an inordinate burden on them that making a profit (Capitalism) was difficult. As a Tea party member, I believe this country has reach a point where more taxes are not the solution, but a deteriment to growth. Tax the rich? When has a poor person ever given you a job, or invested in your business; they haven't becasuse they…See More
