1944 Competence vs. 2010 Incompetence

During World War II, one of the greatest airplanes - the B-24 - was built by Ford Motors.It needed to be done, they put their minds to it, and EVERY 55 minutes one rolled off the assembly line. Total parts in one B-24: 1,2540,000.
A standard car has about 15,000 parts.
A plug-in hybrid car has less than half the number of parts.
Washington just decided that, by 2025, US cars should get 45 - 60 mpg. This, environmentally evaluated, means close to zero for reducing the all-problem-causing CO2. What we need to build, right now, are 160+ mpg plug-in hybrids - - - but the automobile leading Bozos - - Washington Bozos nodding their heads in agreement - - want you to believe that they don't have the technology yet.
