Yesterday was a great day in American politics. It's seems the perseverance of a certain someone (Rick Santorum) it more powerful then the Party elite and the Media. It shows that American's maybe starting to desire to "know" for them self instead of being fed by the propaganda machine.
I will be the first to admit, I have been a Newt Supporter since he stepped into the race, and have not wavered on that support through his highs and lows, and I still see him as the best man for the job, However, I feel his has been beaten down with negative Romney Ad's a a bias media, and in some ways his own pride and ego. So, as a supporter of Newt I have to be a realist and ask can he be that nominee? And sadly I have to say, I don't think so.
Therefore, Should Newt Supporters put our support now behind our second choice, which is Mr. Santorum. Or should this keep going. This process I believe, whereas the democrat's say it is a joke, I think it has been a very healthy process. Should this go until the convention? Or should we narrow the field?
I fear we run the risk of Romney being the nominee if the field is not slimmed down. And Romney, I believe is who the media and Democrat's want because they feel they can beat him. And I tend to agree. Obama will target the urban vote, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, San Fran and Oakland, Atlanta, Philly, Miami, Portland, Seattle, St Louis etc... Which means every vote is going to be important away from the major cities. We need someone who is going to energize the voters to get out and vote. I don't feel Romney can spark that energy as Obama will do everything possible to be likeable and attack him for being rich and use his words, I am not worried about the poor" against him. Those words play perfectly into Obama's hand!
Can Santorum create that spark? I view Santorum as a man of very good character and morality, knowledgeable of the issues, but can he bring the fight to Obama, can he remain cool under fire, If he has one weakness, it is he comes across as "whinny" at times. He can not allow himself to be pulled into a reaction. As when Newt said he should get out of the race, his response seemed very whinny like.
Had Santorum dropped out, I am not sure Newt would have gained much more. I feel Paul and Romney would have gotten the majority of his support. But I feel if Newt left the race, all of his support would go to Santorum.
I would be very interested in your options...

Comment by Joseph Mills on February 9, 2012 at 9:11am He May Willie, However, Show me one living person today who is without fault and guilt and I will show you a lair. Plus anyone who steps out and stands apart, becomes a target. I would rather a man repent and be honest then not. But I am not his judge, I can only go by my gut feeling, and I believe him. Anyone the Media and the Party elite doesn't like, automatically make me want to look deeper for myself. We are so fed propaganda and kept in the dark while special interest (from Both side) devours the flesh of this Nation to the point we are at bare bones.
But I also tread lightly and never trust any man completely, you know where my trust lays. I pray for this nation every day. I pray the right man will come and hopefully bring respect back to America. Respect from both her own people and around the world. And even if that man (or women) comes I will not follow blindly and will demand they are accountable to the people. They are to serve the people, and the nation.
Look at Obama, many many democrats do not agree with him but the vast majority blindly support what they don't agree with. And we should not become that type of blind people, which is why, I love what is going on in these nomination process. I believe voting for a person strictly because polls (reported by the media) says they are most likely to beat Obama, is not just cause to make that person to be the nomoniee. We should vote for principle and policy as well as the character of the person. Not because the media says a person has the best chances at beating Obama.
Why, because I believe, people will vote for truth in November. I believe once they enter the booth, all alone, people of conscience will vote their conscience, and when that happens, principle will win. When it is about who can out lie the other, then we get a liar!!
May God Bless America...
