Fighting Bullies: Thank You Ann Barnhart

 http://www.barnhardt.biz/

I just received an e-mail involving a death threat and the “victim’s” response.   At the time I write this the story is the 5th item down at the link, right after Prayers for Yousef.  Ann Barnhart, a patriot blogger, was threatened in what seems to be either an e-mail or blog posting.  She understands the message as being from a muslim.  I don’t know how she knows but I am sure there is much more information that I didn’t receive in the e-mail.  That isn’t important to me at the moment as my thoughts are of a more general nature.

The important thing to me here is that it really doesn’t matter who actually made the threat.  The threat is real regardless if it is coming from a muslim terror group, a street gang here in America, a drug cartel working within our borders, or our own government.  Ann Barnhart is well known and very outspoken in her faith in the God of Abraham and in Jesus Christ, her belief in the Constitution, her belief in the basic liberties given by Almighty God, and her willingness to defend “all of the above”.  She is being threatened with death for believing these things and being so audacious as to proudly say so out loud.

She is reacting to a bully the only way a bully understands.  The problem with America, and other Western nations is that We the People have bought in to the “political correctness” that says you have to give the bully his way or get a bloody nose.  The problem with giving in is that you get the bloody nose anyway.  You either already have one and he is threatening the onlookers, or he is going to give you one as an example to you and all of your friends is that he means business.

Being the “98 pound weakling” I was at 16, I got picked on a lot by the punks in school.  I finally got fed up with one of them and fought back.  I pretty much broke even in the fight and bled all the way home, but he never bullied me again.  He never bullied a lot of kids again. His bully friends left me alone also.  I had broken his air of invulnerability, broken his spell over a segment of the school.  If I could fight him to a draw others knew they could beat him.  After all, I was a wimp.  Knowing that he was going to get bloodied in another fight caused him to decide I wasn’t worth the effort.  When other victims saw me suddenly being left alone it became worthwhile to hurt a little bit in the short term for long term peace.  Others began to stand up to him. His crowd lost their bluff, not from a hero but from a scared boy tired of being pushed around.

The only way for him to keep his power over me was to win without taking any damage or make me back down.  He really thought I would back down “again” but I didn’t.  That spooked him right off the bat.  Suddenly he had to put his big words into action.  He was fully confident that I would soon be a blubbering mess curled up on the ground begging for mercy.  Then he found out I am left-handed.  I got thumped on pretty good but I was still on my feet and ready to continue when he decided to “cut me some slack and call it off”.  His right eye was closed for a couple of days and his nose seemed a bit larger than normal.  I looked much better.  I was an even blend of black and blue lumps over most of my exposed body.  I had better color coordination and contour.

For years we have tried, as a nation and as a people, to get along and be “moderate” in our dealings with the bullies of the world, including our own government.  Today we are again stopped short of ending the problem by our “moderate” government.  Bullies are all the same regardless of their location, their backgrounds, ethnicity, or religious ideas.  They can never stop being bullies because once they do their spell dissipates.  Tyrants cannot be kind to their people and terrorists can never give up terror tactics.

Ann Barnhart’s response is more than just courageous.  It is patriotic, it is strong, it is straight up, and it is needed.  Courage is needed in each one of us, it is needed in our political parties, and it is needed in America.  These days, when We the People, through individual effort or the collective effort, stand up to any tyranny we are slapped down by our government and the “watchdog media”.  Our government leaders, of both parties, constantly give in to these bullies and when we try to stand up to them, i.e. Arizona’s illegal alien law or Oklahoma’s sharia law ban, they step in on the side of the bully.

Terrorism is a threat to each and every one of us.  Illegal immigration is a threat to each and every one of us.  Gun control is a threat to each and every one of us.  Government control of anything is a threat to each and every one of us.  It may be a lot safer to live in a small town or out in the country but if our way of life falls it will affect all of us.  Our government standing on the sidelines or with the bullies is not a plus for citizens.  Some states still have laws preventing Ann Barnhart from defending herself.  She is expected to be totally defenseless so she doesn’t inflict any undue harm on those who mean to invade her life and do her bodily harm unto the point of death.

We need leaders who will stand up to all of the bullies.  I am not so sure lobbing $1 million dollar cruise missiles to kill Al-awaki in Yemen, or whatever two bit toilet he is residing in, helps We the People all that much.  And when I am told that my personal safety really doesn’t matter to them, that I don’t have a right to protect myself and my family, I get a bit testy.   The Democrat Party not only tells us we have no right to defend ourselves, but that if we do injure the bully that they will punish us.  That is what “sensible gun laws” are saying.

Ann Barnhart is fed up with giving in to bullies.  I am fed up with giving in to bullies.  It seems that 67% of the American people are fed up with giving in to bullies.  Ann embodies the spirit that made America great in the first place.   She is calling the bluff of bullies everywhere, not just muslim ones.  During World War II the Japanese were asked why they didn’t invade the West Coast after Pearl Harbor.  Their response was that they would find an “Ann Barnhart” behind every blade of grass.  This spirit is what won two world wars but never took revenge on those who attacked us.  We executed or imprisoned those who caused the murders of millions but treated the citizens with compassion and care.  We defeated them, totally and completely, and then rebuilt their countries, physically and financially.  It was the United States that bore the brunt of the Berlin Airlift, another great sacrifice made for those who had suffered under Hitler and were then suffering under a just as brutal Soviet rule.  It was the United States that bore the brunt of liberating Iraqis from the brutal dictatorship of Sadaam Hussein and the Afghan people from the tentacles of the Taliban.

The American people are not bullies.  Ann Barnhart is not a bully.  We respond to attacks, not the first attack usually, but we eventually get fed up and fight back.  Citizens are banding together to fight tyranny wherever it is found.  We are willing to have a “live and let live” attitude but we are through being told we are to cower to the threats of terror in our own country, regardless of the source.  We are willing to accept religious freedom for anyone but no longer willing to be told we must submit to Islam if we are to survive.  We are a strong people and we are a good people.  We live by Biblical principles and ask only to live in freedom and peace.  We must also be willing to defend that freedom and peace when it is threatened.

We have been fighting for the freedoms of others for decades and now our freedom is threatened like never before.  We face external and internal threats to our freedom and our safety.  Ann Barnhart is not going out of her way to do harm to any person.  She is not trying to bully anyone.  She is merely standing up for freedom and the right to not cower down to threats by bullies.  Muslim bullies, union bullies, cartel bullies, governmental bullies, what is the real difference?  All of them seek power over us, the power to dictate everything we do, say, eat, drink, where we live, how we live, how/if we can worship God, and on and on.  She is standing up for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  She is challenging the bullies and we can help.

Ann Barnhart is not alone in her stand for freedom.  There are millions more out here in America who find ourselves at the same point.  The other night I watched the movie “The Patriot”.  The most moving scene to me was when Heath Ledger entered the church and interrupted the service with a call for patriots to stand behind their words of freedom.  The time had come to stand up for that freedom or forever be bullied.  Everyone just looked around at each other.  A young lady stood up and chastised the men who had spoken so strongly for freedom, and now that they were needed were hesitant.  Finally one young man stood and he soon became one of a crowd.  The entire town put their lives on the line for freedom.  That scene did more to solidify my belief in America than any other in the movie.  Ann Barnhart is one who represents that young woman.  She is willing to stand for freedom, and to put herself in harm’s way to stand for that freedom.  There have been others before her, there are those with her now, and there are those who will come, all willing and ready to face down the bullies.  Freedom needs for all of us to stand up and get in the game.

Compromising with bullies will get us nowhere.  We can defeat this evil if we stand together.  This is not only a battle against bullies and tyrants.  This is a battle against evil.  This is as much a spiritual battle as a physical one.  Satan’s minions are working against God’s servants in every aspect of life.  The evil we face is real, it is all around us, it is physical, it is spiritual, and it must be defeated.

We can defeat this evil we face, as have others before us.  Standing together as Americans and allying ourselves with God is the way to defeat the evil in the world.  Read 2 Chronicles 7:14.  The steps to freedom are outlined in that short verse.  Humble ourselves before God, pray, repent, seek Him.  We will still have to standup to the bullies, but we will win if we will be loyal to God, Israel, The Constitution, and to each other.  God Bless You, God Bless Israel, God Bless America

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility give to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.
