Connect with The Tea Party!
The following is something I wrote a couple of days ago in response to something that our own Katie Baker had posted. I'm hoping this starts a conversation that every one of us needs to have... AND SOON! My fear, and not just a theoretical-stab-in-the-dark, is that divisions within the different Tea Party groups are going to hurt the movement. And I fear that it could hurt us enough that it allows Obama 4 more years to destroy our country. We must NOT allow that to happen. We either organize NOW, or just sit around and "talk" to, and about, our enemies while the country continues to slide into a Marxist hell-h***.
Hi Katie,
I have not been active on this site for a few weeks because I had to put myself in a time-out. Then tonight I came to see what has been happening and saw your message to me with this link. Reading what you posted above is part of why I had to take some time off. I do not mean you were at fault, not at all, you simply hit on something that needs to be worked out and the sooner the better...
The Tea Party movement is the best thing to happen to this country in over 100 years and I pray it helps to lead this country back to greatness, respect, and honored as the world leader of freedom. But before we can move forward we need to have some honest discussions about those that seem to want to sabotage the movement.
You will be happy to know that I am not about to use names and/or be so specific that someone can attack me as one of those that is trying to do the sabotaging. However, I will state the truth.
If the Tea Party movement fails to unify under one banner, and soon, it/we are doomed to fail. There are so many different Tea Party groups, with each having their own leadership and with their own agendas, it is hard to put out any fires within the Tea Party movement when someone strikes a match. Not only do we have liberal/marxist/progressives that infiltrate Tea Party groups and play mind games with people, and unfortunately we also have people that look at Tea Partiers as some sort of Cash Cow, and try to suck every dime out of people that simply want their proud American Conservative voices to be heard. Then of course we also have to deal with those that join Tea Party groups only to spread pure Libertarian philosophy/ideology. With all this going on it's hard to get one uniting message out to the general public.
I'll be the first to admit that having Tea Party groups being independent of each other was a great idea, at first. Since then I have re-evaluated the set-up and decided this loose coalition is actually hurting us. Because we have no binding contracts in the forms of rules, platforms, codes of conduct, etc, we are allowing some of the groups to become what the progressives have been accusing us of being, and this has become both intolerable and unacceptable if this political movement is to survive, thrive, and grow.
Think about it... for many many months people were comfortable with allowing some to claim that the T-E-A Partymovement ONLY stood for Taxed Enough Already. And yet most of us knew that wasn't true. Sure, there are some that want that to be the only thing it stands for, but for the majority, it's much more than just about MONEY.
Our Founders were wise beyond measure when they decided that a nation of ours could only survive, and was only meant for a moral people. If we were to be successful as a moral nation it meant we were going to have to become a nation of laws. It is the respect for the law that keeps us a civil society. Pure Libertarian ideology doesn't quite see it that way and it's probably why Libertarian candidates are so popular with Anarchists. Could we go overboard with laws? Absolutely, and I could easily make a case that we have already reached that tipping point and are about to fall flat on our collective faces.
As a quick example... Regulations are legally binding because they are connected to some law somewhere. In the month of July, Obama signed enough executive orders to allow regulations in multiple agencies that are going to cost the taxpayer $9 Billion dollars. This expenditure totally by-passed Congress, which I'm pretty sure is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
Even without Obama's fast forwarding this country to it's demise, we still have problems with too many laws. Ok, back on track...
I would love to hear from the people here at Tea Book about what I have said about joining under one Tea Party banner so we can use the "power of the people as one" to it's fullest promise. Of course I know the transition will not be easy because everyone wants to protect what they already have, but for the good of the country we had better find common ground pretty fast before it's too late. Obama and his administration are still going full speed ahead with trying to turn the USA into some stupid Marxist Nirvana. I pray that as a Nation we have NOT lost our fighting spirit and still have what it takes to take back the United States of America.
On a more personal note: One thing that everyone needs to immediately consider is the fact that we may all rally under one name, and pledge to the same flag with stars and stripes, but we are all free and independent thinkers deserving of each others respect. I bring that up because it's time for some Tea Partiers to understand that Christians are NOT the enemy. We will not mock you because you do not believe, if you show us the same respect.

For the sake of our future generations, we MUST talk about this issue NOW!

David,
On June 15th of this year I posted the following blog: Teabook.org, Need for Platform and/or Mission Statement and so tried to do the same thing you are trying to do now and absolutely nothing happened on the subject. I also tried to unite us with a Tea party flag and even a song ( it's all in my blogs). Read my 6/15/ blog if you'd like, or not, as it doesn't really matter to me anymore. I know who I am and what I stand for and again, if you wish, you can definitely see it all on my page as I hold nothing back. The way I look at it and life for that matter is that if you can agree with someone or something on at least 7 out of 10 of the issues that are important to both (like husband and wife, friends, relatives and so on), then you are way the heck ahead of many, many , many others in life. In my 6/15 blog and the more detailed one the day before I spelled out what the various Tea websites used as their goals and asked if we could maybe agree on a couple so that we could all be on the same page and get the wagon moving smoothly as opposed to push, shove, forwards and then backwards a little, but alas, to no avail. A large body of people will hardly ever agree on everything the same, so just break it down to the major points and see if you can at least get agreement there and then move forward. If others want more stuff in there, like pork in a legislative bill, then I guess maybe they will drop out or most probably will vote for the platform anyway because the main premises will be in their heart of hearts above and beyond their special interest that they tried to get shoved into the platform. Hey David, good luck with that and thanks for trying, I wish you the best and better luck than I had. Joe
